Biography

Walt Disney was born on 1901 in Chicago,Illinois. Walt's parents were Elias Disney and Flora Disney. Walt was born into a family of three brother's at the time. Walt's father Elias saw the neighborhood and he thought that he wasn't raising his family in that kinda of neighborhood. So he moved his family to Marcelline, Illinois. Elias had bought 185 acres from his brother as a form of start up so he could get some money out of the land. In 1905 Ruth Disney (Walt's sister) was born. On the farm Walt's older brother would help their father around the farm but walt would help his mother taking care of his little sister.
Walt was 7 years old when he saw his first play. Few years before their Grandmother would read to the children Hans Christian Andersen fairly tales for example Snow White and the seven dwarfs, Peter Pan and that was Walt's favorite. When he saw peter pan as a play for the first time he liked it so much that he himself conducted his own play.
In 1918 Walt wanted to in role the United State Army. At the time the united states were into the World War 1 but Walt was just a "jeep driver" for the medical group. In 1920 Walt found his one and only love and her name was Liliana. Later one they married and moved to Los Angeles. Him and his older brother Roy bought a house in hombly hills. Walt and his brother Roy started their own Production studio called Silly symphony. They started making new clips or videos of cartoons the artist have created. One day Walt and his wife were on a trip to new york when he had the Greatest idea Ever! He thought that a cartoon character should represent or would be the face of his new company. First he said to his wife it should be a mouse I think ill named him Oswald and his wife no give him a cute name how about Mickey, Mickey mouse said Walt. The first ever appearance was in Steam boat Willie. After that his artist began creating more and more cartoon character for mickey for example Minnie mouse or Donald Duck or Goofy and finally Mickey's dog Pluto. One of Walt's dream was to create a animated full length film based on cartoon. The dream came true on December 25 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released and was the first animated film ever.
After the success of Snow White he thought his workers should work in a bigger and better studio so he started building his "new and improved" studio. After all the workers moved to the new studio they felt like he wasn't the same one worker said " Before the move to Burbank Walt wanted us to call him Uncle Walt not Mr. Disney. But now in this big fancy new studio all has change now its only Mr. Disney." In 1941 was the year The United States got into World War 2 and that year was a big year for the Walt Disney Co. The Government ask Walt and his group of artist to go on a "ABC" trip which was Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. The reason was the U.S. government wanted those countries to be on their side not allies with Hitler or with Japan they wanted Walt to be the country's face. So he went and they government paid him.Shortly after the release of Dumbo in October 1941, the United States entered World War II. The U.S. Army contracted most of the Disney studio's facilities where the staff created training and instruction films for the military
He and his staff created some of the world's most well-known fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, for whom Disney himself provided the original voice. During his lifetime he received four honorary Academy Awards and won twenty-two Academy Awards from a total of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual in history.
Mean while at the studio the workers were on strike because they thought they were working so much for Mr. Disney and he wasn't paying them enough money to work for him so they went on strike! Walt was still somewhere in Chile when Roy Disney settled a deal with the worker he gave them all they wanted and more.
Walt was furious when he hear that his own brother give them everything, he trashed the hotel room of how mad he was. When he came back to the studio everything was changed with him nothing was the same. In 1953 Peter pan was released Walt wanted that movie to be perfect. Years before Walt had his first daughter Diane Disney. On a business trip to Chicago in the late-1940s, Disney drew sketches of his ideas for an amusement park where he envisioned his employees spending time with their children. The idea for a children's theme park came after a visit to Children's Fairyland in Oakland, California The Disney family learned that Liliana couldn't have any more children so they decided to adopted a girl they named her Sharon. In 1951 Walt took his daughter's to Griffith Park to ride the merry go around while he was sitting there he thought of another Great! idea. The idea was a theme park where the parents and the children could have fun together. The first thing he need to build a larger theme park was land and lot's of it. He told his Roy brother to find him a location where he could start building 2 month came and went, when finally Walt himself found a location in Anaheim, 165 acres all filled with orange tree it was a Orange Grove. As Disney explained one of his earliest plans to Herb Ryman, who created the first aerial drawing of Disneyland presented to the Bank of America during fund raising for the project, he said, "Herbie, I just want it to look like nothing else in the world. And it should be surrounded by a train.
The next month they were on already planning to build the Sleeping Beauty Castle. It took two and half years so they park could be ready as perfect as Walt wanted it. The day before the grand opening he invited some of his close friends to come to the park and have fun with him. They said (those who were there) he was drunk as a sailor. In July 17, 1955 Disneyland was  open to the public. Almost half a million came to the Grand opening of Disneyland. Walt speech was short and sweet "all those who come to this happy place Welcome!" Walt kept and kept improving the park and wanted to do a new park called Walt Disney World.
By the early 1960s, the Disney empire had become a major success, and Walt Disney Productions had established itself as the world's leading producer of family entertainment. Walt Disney was the Head of Pageantry for the 1960 Winter Olympics.
In early 1964, Disney announced plans to develop another theme park to be called Disney World a few miles west of Orlando, Florida. Disney World was to include "the Magic Kingdom", a larger, more elaborate version of Disneyland. It would also feature a number of golf courses and resort hotels. The heart of Disney World, however, was to be the Experimental Prototype City (or Community) of Tomorrow, known as EPCOT for short.
On December 15 1966 Walt died of a heart failure. His life was beautiful to me because he kept and kept pushing for the best.
After Walt Disney's death, Roy Disney returned from retirement to take full control of Walt Disney Productions and WED Enterprises. In October 1971, the families of Walt and Roy met in front of Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom to officially open the Walt Disney World Resort.
When I was 14 I went to disneyland with my whole family it was a surprise to me for my birthday. I was wondering how all of land came to life well not life but real, and thats when i started to resreach all of walt disney and how you tried so much for his dream to come true. I admire him, he is one of my heros. I wish i could have that can of drive that he had before well even threw his death.
Now the Walt Disney co. is just a bussiness people in that company just think about the money. Disneyland tickets are 80 dollars thats the lowest they could go. I have read many books about him and that wasnt his wish or his true dream he wanted parents and children to enjoy themselves in one places. Its just a disaster now.
